Will Rogers Murals

When the artist first proposed a Will Rogers Monument for the City of San Bernardino, Rogers was a full length figure standing against the north wall of the theater.

After contracts were signed and all sketches were accepted, it was discovered that a multiple cinema was being planned which would hide some of the figure from view. Twitchell started over from scratch, finally painting two murals, one on each side of the theater.
